alter-nativ Brazil is a Franco-Portuguese agency based in Recife, Brazil. It specializes in personalised and custom made adventure holidays that are off the beaten track. More than an agency, alter-nativ Brazil is a team of consultants and travel experts, specialising in the North and Northeast regions.

We, Yannick Ollivier and Paula Cardoso, residing in Brazil since 2001, founded the agency alter-nativ Brazil in 2005 with the idea of offering authentic and unusual itineraries for travellers who wish to avoid mass tourism and embark on an adventure safely and yet respect the environment and local people.

To do this, we have a network of local guides chosen directly in the field for their experience, specific knowledge of each geographical and cultural area and their passion for sharing these attributes with visitors.
